Teach Someone Something: Let's Get this Bread Edition
Are you a bread enthusiast? Are Texas Roadhouse rolls your jam? Do these puns make your head feel like toast? If you answered yes to any these, may I introduce you the the world of baking bread, using a bread machine edition. Traditional breadmaking is a process that can take anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours, but using a bread machine is a process that can have you with freshly baked bread, from ingredients to the final loaf, within two or so hours, with minimal work and minimal effort. Bread makers can be an investment, but take it from me (who proudly owns not just one, but two bread makers) is very much worth the investment.
Once you have a bread maker, the options are limitless, and anyone (at almost any age) can operate one. You do not have to be a baker to bake this bread. The only trouble you should be having? Deciding and finding what recipes you should make first. Need help finding the perfect recipe? Watch the video below for some helpful tips and tricks for searching for the perfect recipe!
While not foolproof, hopefully these tips and tricks will help you make your next perfect loaf. Attached are some images of the breads I have made using my bread maker. The first image is of a classic, white sandwich bread, and the second, is a concha (a traditional, Mexican sweet bread) that I used my bread machine to make the dough, and shape to look like turtles. Both recipes to make the breads pictured, were found using the tips and tricks I mentioned in my above video. Hopefully these tips and tricks helped, it's the yeast I could do!

ReplyDeleteThis lesson was awesome! I love how you specifically pointed out that you type quotation marks over the specific term so the user will only receive the intended results, very helpful tip!
ReplyDeleteKarina, I enjoyed every second of this video!! Those puns were the best lol!
ReplyDeleteThe bread jokes at the beginning had me dying laughing! I liked that you took a different angle for this. The videos were great, and very helpful, but your writing on the blog in between was what sealed the deal for me!
ReplyDeleteWow! I enjoyed watching your video! Explaining how to look for searches using the quotation marks allows the students to understand that this option narrows down the search. You also included how the stars in the reviews help you look for the best websites or recipes. Little things like that come in handy, and are helpful to teach our students.
ReplyDeleteThe bread jokes were a great addition! The tools you used to find the best recipe were excellent suggestions! Using the number of views and stars is a great way to narrow down overwhelming search results.
